Significant changes in the rules for work and permit to Denmark

A long-awaited reform in the area of international recruitement is effective from 1 January 2015 making it easier for Danish universities to attract scientists and PhD students from  countries outside the EU/EEA countries.

HR

HR office hours at Geosciece
From 1 January 2015 our HR partner Margrethe Vejs-Petersen is back from her maternity leave.
As something new she will from now on be available at Geoscience every Thursday at 9-11 in the partners office (1672-123). Alternatively, you are welcome to consult her in her permanent office 1521-218.

Research

Grants from International Networks Program 2014
Two Geoscience employees receive grants from the 6th bulletin of Danish Agency for Science and Innovations International Networks Program:

  • Project Title: English-Brazil Geoscience Network
    Grant recipient: Ole Rønø Clausen
    Institution: Aarhus University
    Amount: 287 309 kr.
  • Project Title: Network on bridging the state of practice with the state of science of groundwater modeling
    Grant recipient: Steen Christensen 
    Institution: Aarhus University
    Amount: 287 611 kr.

IT

IT service window
The first of this year's planned service windows will be in the weekend 31 January - 01 February (Saturday at. 00:01 to Sunday 23:59 (incl.).
On Saturday from 00.01 to 14:00 it will not be possible to use any of AU’s IT systems. After that the individual systems will periodically be out of service.  On http://driftstatus.au.dk/en/  you can follow the IT operating status in detail.
Questions can be directed to driftstatus.it@au.dk.
Another three service windows in 2015 are planned to take place on 18-19 April, 5- 6 September and  14-15 November.

Biomedicin Construction Work started again

The construction of Biomedicine's new building on the corner of Hoegh-Guldbergs Gade and Vennelyst Boulevard was stopped at the end of 2014 due to violent nuisance in the surrounding buildings. Now the work is resumed using another solution that reduces noise and vibration. Further information: http://health.medarbejdere.au.dk/#news-4283
