Corona/covid-19

The administration centre is closed for the holidays

The departments in Administration Centre Nat-Tech will basically be closed from 23 December to 3 January 2021.

Estate Facilities will be staffed, but with less staff.

IT Support is open, but to a lesser extent. See opening hours.

THE FIRST PHASE OF MOVING IS DONE

The first phase of the relocation of HGG from building 1120 to the building complex 1670-1675 is over.
7 rooms in building 1671 have been emptied, and on Monday 14 December, the craftsmen started laying new cables before putting up walls.

The microscopy room has been moved to 1653-018 (under the former Dale's café).
After cleaning up, it will be really nice.

The computer room has been moved to 1673-118. All computers are currently in the hands of the IT support to get an update.

We have also taken over room 1653-018, which is slightly smaller than the new microscopy room but equipped with new furniture as 1653-014. It will be a fine replacement for 1673-118.

The partner office has been moved to 1672-123.

Access cards update

All personal access cards at AU must have a photo addded. It will therefore no longer be possible to order personal access cards without a photo.
A process for replacing personal access cards is initiated.
The access cards that need to be replaced with new ones are:

  • Personal access cards without photo
  • Personal access cards with or without photo that do not have system code 106820. The system code is printed on the left corner on the back of the card. If it is not possible to read the system code due to wear and tear, the card must also be replaced

The process for replacing cards on NAT will start in week 4, and you will receive more information on how this will take place.

If you need to teach in building 1653, check to see if your current card works for the building.
All staff and students have been given access on their current cards, but very old cards without a chip as well as cards with a broken chip cannot be used. Therefore, check your card well in advance before you need access to the building and order a new card with picture if your current card does not work.

Ordering a new access card

If you do not have a photo, you can contact the secretariat and get one taken when we are back in the office.

Remember that access must be added to your new card. This is done in the secretariat, and can be done via email, once you have received the card.

New info screen

From January 2021, the info screens on Geoscience will change appearance, due to a change of system supplier.

The new system is called Scala and is supported by AU.
The secretariat will run tests in December and January.

new partner at GSNS

Due to restructuring at the Graduate School, the Department of Geoscience has a new PhD partner:

Tina Stenshøj Kaysen | tist@au.dk | tel .: 9352 2310

When corona allow us visitors again, you can meet Tina in the partner office. Office hours will be announced here and on the employee portal.

CWT CONTINUED SUPPLIER ON TRAVEL

Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has won the tender on travel agency services again.

There will be the following changes:

  • Cheaper prices on travel bookings
  • Access to a new, improved online ordering system / App
  • All settlements of travel with CWT will in future take place directly in RejsUd and no longer by individual invoices in IndFak

The system went live on 16 December.

Webinars on using the new system will be held in January. The dates are not yet fixed. If you are interested in participating, please contact the Travel Group at rejser@au.dk.

Support portal

Geoscience belongs to NT-IT Team 1 when creating IT support cases via the support portal.

There are challenges with the new system.
When creating cases, it is sometimes not possible to see your own text on a case after it has been created. Pay special attention to this if more than one case is created for the same support group.

Work is done to resolve errors and omissions and patience is recommended. The support system is new to everyone, including the supporters.

New employees

On 1 November, Gry Hoffmann Barfod started her job as academic employee in the research group AGIR: Aarhus Geochemical and Isotope Research Platform.
Gry works in isotope geochemistry and archeometry and will primarily be found in the department's metal-free clean lab.

On 1 December, Kathrine Eg Lindgaard started her job as communications and educations employee.
Her function will be to support the head of degree programme, but she will also work with recruitment.
Kathrine is employed in a fixed-term position of two years.
