TEMPLATES FOR advertisements

Nat-Tech HR has created templates for job advertisements in order to facilitate and optimize the process around advertisements. This is to ensure that HR receives all the necessary information and thus can process the request more quickly and publish the position. The templates provide inspiration for the text in the notices, inspiration for relevant job sites and the opportunity to provide all relevant information at once.

The templates are on HR's website. For each new advertisement, it is recommended to download the latest version of the desired template.

OPTIMIZATION OF HR'S SERVICES

These 4 initiatives were implemented in September 2020 and still apply:

  1. Co-responsibility for prioritization so that letters of appointment are received before the date of accession
All new employees must receive a certificate of employment before joining. Therefore HR must receive the cases from the departments
    - 30 days before accession (Danish citizens)
    - 60 days before accession (EU citizens)
    - 90 days before accession (non-EU citizens)
  2. Fixed employment times
All appointments should, as far as possible, take place on the 1st or 15th of the month.
  3. The length of employment
As a general rule, the departments can only employ employees for a minimum of six months, and only exceptionally can this be deviated from after approval by the head of department.
  4. HR's prioritization of employment cases
    1. Permanent VIP
    2. Permanent TAP
    3. Temporary VIP
    4. Part-time VIP
    5. Part-time TAP
    6. Others

Deviations can be made by agreement between HR and the head of department.

Questions can be asked to HR's team mailbox: HR.ST.team1@au.dk or to our HR partner Kathrine Kofoed Jensen | kofoed@au.dk | +45 9350 8204

Danish lessons will return to geo

From Monday 9 August, there will again be physical Danish lessons at GEO.

The teaching will in August be in room 1671-241.

Access to buildings 1670-1675

All staff and students must use access cards when entering buildings 1670-1675 outside normal opening hours (8-17).

Access to the buildings goes through the front door in 1670 and the back door (goods delivery) in 1675.

All other exit doors have had the cylinders blinded off on the outside, and it is no longer possible to open these doors using keys.

News about the move from 1120

It's happening...

The HGG group moves to the 1670 buildings on 26-28 July.

The group's new offices are located in resp. 1671 - 2nd floor and 1672 - 3rd floor.
The workshop from building 1120 moves in next to the electrical workshop in 1674 - 1st floor.

BA STUDY ROOM READY FOR USE

The study room for the students in 1st to 4th year is ready to receive the students again.

The old and worn furniture has been removed and there are now 20 study places in the quiet zone, 2 PC workstations and 2 group rooms.

New employees

JUAN CARLOS ZAMORA LURIA

Juan Carlos has started his PhD in the HGG group.

Here is a presentation from Juan Carlos:

My name is Juan Carlos and I come from Mexico. I studied my bachelors and masters in Mexico, focusing in the study of karst aquifers using standard geophysics techniques.

However, it is important to apply new and better tecniques in the study of shallow aquifers, it was clear to me that a PhD project in the Hydrogeophysics Group (HGG) would give me that kind of expertise.  I was lucky to be accepted as a PhD student within the group and I look forward to gaining a better undertanding of my choosen field.

After many struggles and  delays caused by COVID-19, now I finally come to this Aarhus University under the funding from The Mexican National Council of Science and Technology under the supervision of professor Anders Vest Christiansen, head of the HHG group.

Rikke Vestergaard

Rikke is a guest PhD student from the University of Copenhagen in the period 14 June 2021 to 30 November 2022.

Here is a presentation from Rikke:

Greetings,
My name is Rikke Vestergaard and I am a PhD student at the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management (IGN) at University of Copenhagen, and I am now joining you here at the Department of Geoscience, Aarhus University as a guest PhD student for a prolonged visit, since I moved back to Aarhus.
My project focusses on elucidating the geological evolution and significance of South Greenland by combining spatial, chemical and chronological studies, including U-Pb-Hf-O zircon work, on a suite of samples. My supervisor Tod Waight and I travelled to South Greenland during the summer 2020, where we had hired a boat to sail from place to place in a N-S traverse through the Julianehåb Batholith and Southern Domain of South Greenland to smash and grab mainly granitoids.
The photo was taken during our fieldtrip to South Greenland during the summer 2020.

Enjoy your summer holiday
