CHRISTMAS GREETINGS

CHRISTMAS GREETING FROM MARIT-SOLVEIG

Dear All

As we approach the end of the year, we can reflect on what has been a very eventful period. We have experienced several changes in our staff with some members leaving us and new ones joining us. We have also said goodbye to our graduating students and welcomed a new group of students who are now enriching our department.

Leadership transitioned just before summer, and we are actively working on developing departmental structures and new collaborations. We are also preparing for the upcoming strategy development process this spring, which will involve broad participation across the department.

Throughout all these changes, you have maintained the community spirit that makes our department an excellent place to work and study. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your hard work and positive spirit!

On a personal note, I would also like to thank you for your patience and support over the last six months. It has been exciting to see ideas come to fruition, but I would not have been able to do my job without your help.

With the holiday season upon us, it's time to relax and enjoy life - whether that means spending time with family, friends, pets, or simply reflecting quietly. You all absolutely deserve it. To help everyone unwind, we are introducing a new rule this year:
Please refrain from sending work-related emails or other communications to colleagues, teachers, or students during the holidays unless previously agreed upon or in case of urgent need.
I know this isn't easy —certainly not for me! — but let's give it a try.

I wish you all a wonderful vacation and look forward to seeing you in 2025.

Happy Holidays and all the best for the new year,
Marit-Solveig

P.S. As always, I will be available via email or phone in case of emergencies.

CHRISTMAS GREETING FROM THE SECRETARIAT

Thank you for the great collaboration this year. We look forward to continuing it in 2025.

In 2025, you can reach us Monday to Friday from 10.15 to 11.30 and from 13.00 to 14.30.

With a little help from an AI or two, we’ve created a very special gift for you and all other geoscience enthusiasts: a geoscience Christmas song!

Listen to it here and hum your way into the holiday season.

ASK GEOSCIENCE

A new mailbox has been created for private individuals to send inquiries if they have questions about a private rock or similar topics.

The email address is ask.geoscience@geo.au.dk, and it is managed by Bo Holm Jacobsen, who will forward the questions to the appropriate person.

If you receive such inquiries, feel free to refer them to this email address or to our webpage for private individuals.

CHRISTMAS CLOSURE AT THE SECRETARIAT

The secretariat will be closed from December 23, 2024, to January 3, 2025 (both dates inclusive).

CHRISTMAS CLOSURE AT THE ADMINISTRATION CENTER

The Nat-Tech Administration Center will be closed for Christmas from December 23, 2024, to January 1, 2025 (both dates inclusive).
